چکیده
We present an updated estimate of the cosmic radio background (CRB) and corresponding attenuation lengths for ultra-high energy photons. This new provides associated uncertainties as a function frequency derived from observational constraints on key physical parameters. also expected variation in spectrum CRB these parameters, well accounting spectral index among population galaxies. The presented this work shows better agreement with source-count measurements than previous calculations. In regime where we expect cosmogenic photons dominantly attenuated by CRB, our calculation length differs estimates factor up to 3, depending specific model comparison. These results imply decrease number energies $\sim 10^{19}-10^{20}$ eV.

A new estimate of the extragalactic radio background and implications for ultra - high - energy gamma - ray propagation
A new estimate of the extragalactic radio background and implications for ultra-high-energy gamma-ray propagation Abstract We make a new estimate of the extragalactic radio background down to kHz frequencies based on the observed luminosity functions and radio spectra of normal galaxies and radio galaxies. We have constructed models for the spectra of these two classes of objects down to low fr...
متن کاملPropagation of ultra high energy cosmic rays
We briefly describe the energy loss processes of ultrahigh energy protons, heavier nuclei and gamma rays in interactions with the universal photon fields of the Universe. We then discuss the modification of the accelerated cosmic ray energy spectrum in propagation by the energy loss processes and the charged cosmic ray scattering in the extragalactic magnetic fields. The energy lost by the ultr...
متن کاملPropagation of ultra-high energy neutrinos in the cosmic neutrino background
UHE cosmic neutrino interaction with the cosmic neutrino background (CnuB) is expected to produce absorption dips in the UHE neutrino flux at energies above the threshold for Z-boson resonant production. The observation of these dips would constitute an evidence for the existence of the CnuB; they could also be used to determine the value of the relic neutrino masses as well as some features of...
متن کاملPropagation and Chemical Composition of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays
Extragalactic cosmic ray protons with an injection spectrum of the typeE show a spectrum on earth with a dip due to the Bethe-Heitler pair production against the photons of the cosmic microwave background. The dip is produced in the energy region 10 − 4 × 10 eV with position and shape that reproduce with high accuracy the spectrum observed experimentally. This interpretation of the observed dat...
متن کاملSignatures of Ultra-High Energy Cosmic Ray Composition from Propagation of Nuclei in Intergalactic Photon Fields
We present a calculation of nuclei propagation with energies above 1018 eV in the intergalactic photon field. The calculation is based on a Monte Carlo approach for the nucleus-photon interaction as well as the intergalactic magnetic field. We then assume that the Ultra-High Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECR) are nuclei which are emitted from extra-galactic point sources. Four bumps are found in the en...
